Academics

The heart of your education at CSB+SJU is the unique connection built with students and our faculty.

There’s Something Different Here

Your college experience is about more than the degree you earn; we think you should be exposed to new perspectives and career opportunities that you may have never imagined! At CSB and SJU, we pride ourselves on how we multiply your network as you make strong connections with faculty, students, staff, and our community. It is our foundation!

Rooted in our Benedictine Identity and the Catholic intellectual tradition, we always say it’s nearly impossible to fall through the cracks here. All your classes are taught by faculty instead of graduate assistants, meaning you learn from experienced, recognized scholars. These people see themselves as an integrative part of your education, going beyond books and data to teach lessons that will last you throughout your lifetime

Dig Into Experiences

Important learning happens inside and outside of the classroom. Our hands-on, experiential educational opportunities in study abroad, service-learning, internships and undergraduate research are a highlight of the CSB and SJU academic experience. In fact, the Integrations Curriculum has an experiential engagement component to ensure every student has the opportunity to take the skills they gain in the classroom into the real world.

An Approach Like No Other

Integrated learning is about seeing relationships among the arts, the sciences and the humanities. The skills learned by this approach are invaluable, helping you obtain real-world skills that help you look at things from a different perspective. Oh, and this also makes Bennies and Johnnies extra sought-after by top graduate programs — not to mention your next employer.
